Ordinary Moments for P52 and New Stuffs!

I can't believe the month is almost over. I've decided I'd do a little Project 52 this year since I couldn't keep up with P365 the past 2. However, school started and I missed last week's photo. I have one that works. I did, after all take photos during the week. I just didn't keep up with posting deadlines for the P52 I decided to take part in.

I had started following Lens Pro to Go's P52, but I don't think that's going to work out. I can't keep up with their posting deadlines and keep with their theme. I'm just going to go at my own pace and use whatever photo I took during that week that suits my mood. I took last week's photo during the Pinewood Derby on Saturday.
My new kit, Every Day Moments, will be just perfect to scrap these "ordinary moments" that I plan to capture for my P52 from here on out.

It all started with a vintage postcard I found on Pinterest. The colors were just beautiful. I have never been a big fan of the color yellow, but the golden yellow I found on the postcard is just wonderful.

Ready for the New Years?

I can't believe another year is coming to an end. It's been a busy one for me. I decided to go back to school and study photography this time last year and have 2 semesters under my belt now. I've enjoyed every minute of it.

I celebrated my designer-versary at ScrapMatters and then sadly had to find a new shop for my designs. I found a spot at The Digichick and couldn't be happier. I've spent a good amount of time in the past couple of months repackaging products and adding them to my shop there and am not quite done yet. If you've been looking for something that hasn't been added let me know and I'll move it to the top of the list.

With all that's been going on during the last part of the year I haven't had quite as much time to design as I'd like. However, I did find the time and inspiration to put together a new collection for this week. I've got a fun,new collection just perfect for New Year's!

I've never thought I'd move shops once I got settled in at SM, but over the course of the past few months I have had to make some hard decisions based on circumstances that were beyond my control. In November I was lucky enough to get a guest spot at The Digi Chick and I totally LOVE it there. I've been invited to stay on as a permanent designer and I couldn't be happier!

This week I've got some yummy stuff for the December edition of The Chick Fix and a few other fun Christmas goodies, too.

Sweet's Tea Party

Know a little someone that loves tea parties? I've got the sweetest little tea party kit in my shop today.

Wishing ScrapMatters a GREAT BIG Happy Birthday!! I'm so excited to be a part of the celebration again this year. With the ScrapMatters birthday celebration comes

the anniversary of my guest spot last year. Next month will be my SM DT Designer-versary!! I'm hoping to have some fun stuff to celebrate that big occasion next month.

The birthday celebration planning got me thinking about scrapping some of my kiddos birthday pages. I'm WAY, WAY behind. In fact, I JUST scrapped some of Miss K's first birthday this week.

After I scrapped that one i thought about the LO that I'd done of Dood's 1st birthday. It was a Speed Scrap LO :) It's one of my favorites, too.

I've scrapped a few pages here and there from their birthdays, but they are nearly 7 and 4.5 and I know I have not done one for each year yet. I need to get to work on those pages!

Now let's get on to the blog train goodies!

Happy July y'all! I can't beleive it's already July. The kiddo's summer vacation is practically half-way over and boy has it been HOT here.

Luckily we've had a few days of respite from the 100+ temps we've been having but it's still not exactly cool lol.

Happy iNSD Weekend!

It has been a crazy, crazy few wees. I'm taking some photography classes at a local college and iNSD and the semester's print show are both about the same time and I have been running myself ragged trying to get ready for both. I think I finally made it to a point where I can relax a little on Wednesday.

I've got my prints for print show selected and mounted. These 3 photos are my favorites of the 6 I'm submitting:

Maybe I'll get a chance to enjoy some of the festivities this weekend before I have class again on Sunday and then do some Mother's Day stuff with my family.

Templates are a perfect way to jump into a layout. I use them as a starting point and just modify them to suit my photos and way the photos want to be scrapped. I'm going to attempt some P365 again this year. Last year I think I only got like 10 photos in before I just stopped. I think it was the stress of feeling like I needed a photo, to edit the raw photo, and blog about the photo Every Single Day. I'm going to take my pictures and maybe try and blog once a week. Maybe I'll even manage to scrap some of them this year, too. lol.

Happy Friday y'all! We're getting ready for Kindergarten to start next week and we are very excited about it :) We got to meet DS's teacher today and she was very nice and I think he's going to do great. However, I do get a little teary when I think about him starting school :)

He's getting a new belt in Kung Fu in the morning, too, so I'll have some good photo ops to scrap (and maybe get me started on a theme kit to scrap them with.)

Today at ScrapMatters I am VERY excited to release this collab I did with Captivated Visions. Rachel was so awesome to work with and I just love how the kit turned out.

In case you missed my speed scrap at ScrapMatters last week, I've also got this fun, basic alpha in my shop today.

Happy Wednesday! I'm in the last weeks of my guest shop at ScrapMatters and I'm having a wonderful time there. I'm getting layouts scrapped and chatting and speed scrapping (more chatting lol) and working on challenges. Whenever I find myself spending more time at ScrapMatters my layout gallery grows. I'm in love with my layouts I created so far this month. My favorite is from this week's afternoon speed scrap:

The background paper is from a pack I've just created and will release at ScrapMatters next week. I LOVE them! I used Sahlin Studios's Innovation kit for the elements. The were perfect for the colors in the layout and Sahlin's stuff is just gorgeous.

Old stuff and new again.

I was doing a little reminiscing through my layout gallery over at ScrapMatters and came across one of my first layouts that i posted in the gallery there. It was my first purchase from the shop, too. It matched my photos so perfectly, too.

The lettering for the word Clementine was one of my first efforts at alpha making, too. However, I'm pretty sure it wasn't my best work. Looking at that layout inspired me to locate the photo I used to make the orange peel letters and create a layer style. I was using PSE5 when I made the layout so I wasn't able to make styles back then, so I'm sure I had an awful lot of fun cutting and pasting the flat photo onto the font I used for the alpha. It was (and maybe still is back in the archives) an early blog freebie.

Today I made that layer style, and created a brand new Darling Clementine Alpha to share.

It's bright and summery enough you could use it on your layout for the Featured Designer Challenge over at ES this month. If you pop on over to the ES Blog you can grab some bright, summery card stock papers to use as well.

A new scrapper, a new computer, and a NEW KIT, Too!

The other day my daughter, who is just 3, told me she wanted to "do some scrapbook." So dug through my paper scrap supplies and came out with a Color Bok 4x4 mini album and printed papers that I grabbed from the $1 bin at Jo-Anns a few months ago. She had a package of foam ladybug stickers I had bought for her on Friday and was ready to go.

I gave her the pieces and showed her how to attach the papers to the pages in the album. She and her brother recently made their dad birthday cards, which is when she learned how to use (and over-use) a basic tape roller. She sat down and got right to work. When she was finished putting the papers in and sticking her stickers to the pages, she brought it over to show me, and of course I decided it needed further embellishment.

Since I have a nice stash of paper flowers and other fun things I gave her some of those and a sheet of Pop Dots (her new favorite thing btw) and she set out to make her little scrapbook beautiful. I also gave her one of my scrapbook pens and she doodled on most of her pages. She had a great time sticking the flowers and some buttons to the pages in her mini album and was very proud of the finished product.

While she was busy making her scrapbook, her brother was playing on his new computer. My husband had built him a new computer the day before. I took some photos of the process and decided

I had finally the perfect photos to scrap with my "Dad's A Geek" kit I created for last father's day. While I was working on the layout I decided that I will likely open that kit up and give it an overhaul. The papers and textures are no longer up to my current standards. :) So be looking for a newly released version of that kit soon.

Anyway, here is the page I did for the Roadmap to Scrap Challenge over at ScrapMatters this week.

I've got a beautiful new kit in my shoppes at ES and GDS today. It's soft colors are so soothing. It makes me feel calm and peaceful when I look at it.

Christmas Whimsy and other Holiday Fun

Last night I had a friend come over and we made some Christmas tags. I had plans to print out some papers from Holly Jolly and from my new kit and do some tags with those, but the migraine I woke up with yesterday had other plans for me. So after dinner I ran out to Archiver's and picked up a few sheets of Christmas paper, a glue pad, some acrylic stamps, some super fine glitter, and some brads. My friend brought a tag punch and after attempting to cut a few by hand I proceeded to cut the rest with with the punch. I'm going to have to get myself one of those. Here are a few examples of what I did last night:

New this week at GDS I have a cute little kit called Christmas Whimsy. It is part of the GDS December Designer's Collab. There are several other parts from the other GDS designers. You can buy them all and build your own mega. My portion is a slightly larger mini with 6 papers and 20 elements.

I put together a little doodled alpha together today to match the kits. I hope ya'll like it.

I'm hosting a speed scrap at GDS on Monday night. I'll be giving away matching glitters to all who participate, so if you have a chance and want to speed scrap come join me at 9:30 EST. You can go to the calender at GDS and have a reminder set, too.

A Sneaky Peek and a New Look!

I've got a sweet little kit coming soon to my shoppes at GDS and Elemental Scraps. I am in LOVE with it, too. It's peaceful and dreamy and has just enough sparkle.

If you'll notice my blog's new look, you'll get a little more of a peek at what is inside the new kit ;) I am SO SO SO excited to have finally taken the time to dress my blog up. I have been meaning to for months and months. Now it's so pretty and I'm wondering why I didn't take the time to do it sooner. To celebrate the blog's new look I've got a little template to share.

I hope everyone has has had a fabulous Thanksgiving (or a great Thursday for those of ya'll not from the U.S. ;)) I spent the ENTIRE day in the kitchen. I started out making pumpkin pancakes for everyone and progressed to the big feast. Mr Bird was dressed and ready for the oven by 11:30 and we all sat down to dinner shortly after 5. There were no turkey fiascos this year :)

I'm headed out at midnight to go to Toys R Us and fight the crowds in hopes of grabbing up some super deals for Christmas. Then maybe to Wal-Mart and home. I'm hoping to do LOTS and LOTS of digiscrap related Black Friday shopping tomorrow afternoon. I'm really looking forward to shopping from the sofa with no crowds!

This week is going by too fast. I have been meaning to get this blog post done for days and they just kept slipping by. This week I've got a few new things in my shops. First I've got some Color Play goodies over at ES.

My baby boy is turning 5!

I can't believe that Jake is going to be 5 on Sunday. He's having a Halloween party this year. He's very excited and is quite the party planner. I can't wait to take 100's of pictures and sit down and scrap some. In celebration of the big day I'm having a sale over at GDS.

Kimi and I have teamed up for a sequel to Hoo's My Boy. It's called Hoo's My Girl.

We've got it on sale for 30% off this week at GDS. It'll be releasing at my new shop next week, but I'm still keeping WHERE that new shop is a secret for the time being ;) I've been spending a lot of time getting ready for my grand opening and have a nice list of new goodies to release during my grand opening. I've got a beautiful new kit, some CU texture overlays, and some photo masks. I'm so excited about the new shop and can't wait to tell everyone about it. Next week.

Some announcements and a GDS Freebie

It's been a little crazy here. First of all I had a pretty awesome first month at GDS. It went so well that I decided it was time to say goodbye to Scrapable and am no longer selling there. I hadn't planned on leaving, but I felt I needed to at this point. Then just a few days after I sent off my notice I got an email from another shop asking me to join their design team. I was both shocked and excited by the offer and after a couple days of thinking about it I decided it was an offer I couldn't pass up. I'm going to wait to announce WHERE for now, though.

Kimi and I have finished up our 2nd collab and I we'll be posting sneak peeks soon as well a few chances to win it. It's really cute so you don't want to miss it.

I'm a busy little bee as usual working on new kits and trying to get a few pages scrapped here and there. I did manage to finish my LO for the GDS Progressive Challenge and I did a little page using Kimi's new kit Doodlebug.

I'm working on a Halloween kit with Snowflake Beach Designs and have begun working on a grand opening kit for my new shoppe, too. I've got the Daily Download at GDS today. I've made this layered copper alpha. It is perfect for fall layouts.

Jake's Favorite Things at GDS!

I've got a brand new kit in my shop at GDS this week. It is inspired by my little boy. It is full of things all little boys love. In fact, if you were to look in the pocket of any little guy you just might find some of these things. Marbles, rocks, leaves, bugs, etc.

Many of the pieces came directly from Jake's little treasure box or are things we found together when we were out walking. The marbles belonged to his Nani when she was a little girl. The pine cone was found at the park in Houston when he was visiting his grandparents there. The leaves came from our front yard.

There is a little story that I could tell you about nearly every piece included in the kit, but I'll stop now ;)

It's been a week since I opened up shop at GDS and I'm EXCITED to say I am so happy to be there. I'm so excited that I've already got another kit all ready to go into my shop. It was inspired by my son. I hope to release it this weekend. Its full of things little boys love.
